Obesity is known for being a serious, chronic disease that has reached epidemic proportions in the United States and Europe too. According to a national survey, more than 17 percent of U.S. children, ages 6 to 19, are either overweight or obese. Furthermore, more than a third of the U.S. population is overweight or obese. The situation is also critical in the United Kingdom and in the rest of Europe.

Overweight and obesity together represent the second preventable cause of death in Western Europe. Therefore, the people who are obese, need to change their lifestyle before it is too late. Obesity has am never-ending effect on health in general. If you are slightly obese, you are prone to certain diseases and medical affections, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and others, such as joint problems (osteoarthritis), sleep apnea and even cancer.

Oliver Greene speaks in his book entitled “The Menace of Obesity” (Publication date: March 26, 2011), all about his experiences and about how to lose weight and change the lifestyle that you once had and start a new life, having a new and more healthy lifestyle. The role of this paper is to determine people to understand how dangerous obesity really is and how to fight against it. In the end, it is important to share some info about the author – Oliver Greene. His story about how he confronted obesity is true and it might help people understand the dangers of obesity. The author fought with weight issues and obesity for a long, long time. However, as many of us would do, he didn’t think it was so important and later in his life his health deteriorated and in 2008 was almost on the edge of losing his life because of his clinical obesity.

After this moment in life he said stop to his laziness and unhealthy lifestyle and made the decision to change. In 2009 and 2010 he continued to lose weight and thus he overcome the illness. For example, between January 2009 and January 2010, Oliver lost a total of 38.7 kilograms, or 85 lbs, 6st.1lb. Today, Oliver has a healthy lifestyle, continues his food regime and works out regularly, despite being in a wheelchair.

The book is about two different aspects:

  • How to change your lifestyle and lose weight!
  • How to change your mind and have a BEAUTIFUL LIFE!

Remember: Obesity is an illness. Obesity is as dangerous and painful as any other disease you might think of. The only thing is that obesity is a long-running illness and it can give you the final blow after a few years. You just need to change the way your mind works and have an AMBITION TO SUCCEED! The results of weight loss treatments are not rapidly visible and many overweight patients lose their interest and lose this battle. If you try 100 times to do something and you fail and you give up, does this mean that you will ever win? NO! However, if you try again, and again, and again, you will succeed in the end. It is important how you’ll be going to finish? Are you going to finish strong?
